The coverage map data supplied by Collins Bartholomew is sourced from the Network Operators.
As the official mapping partner of the GSMA, we are in the unique position of being able to offer mobile network coverage information that has been provided directly from its source all around the world.
From network operators
Created from submissions made directly to us, or the GSMA, from network operators who provide roaming detail.
Collected over many years
Each annual data release since 2010 may provide a valuable insight into network growth from the submissions we receive each year.
Supplemented by open source
Using an open source dataset of interpolated cell tower locations, we create a representation of network coverage which we include as additional layers in our data.
Mobile Coverage Explorer
An aggregated dataset in raster format, providing a representation of the area covered by mobile networks around the world. Available as annual releases from 2010 to 2024.
Mobile Coverage Legacy
An historical dataset in vector format providing coverage information that was submitted to the GSMA between 1999 and 2009.
